Parent-Child
Kayak Fishing Class:
Description: Have you ever had the good luck of sneaking-up
on a group of redfish while wading? Well, just imagine fishing by
kayak in regions of the Aransas Bay Water Complex - places where
no boat has gone before. Coastal Bend Kayak spends almost every day on the
water - teaching, guiding and fishing. You will learn safety
skills, how to read coastal waters (strictly for fishing
purposes). Learning about water conditions and how they play into
where the fish are and aren't is an important factor to fishing
success. You will learn which lures are successful in particular
clarities of water and how to choose the right lure for that kind
of water condition. There is an additional fee for Coastal Bend
Kayak to clean and bag your catch - ready to go in your cooler.
Let us know in advance please.
A Texas
fishing license and saltwater stamp is required.

Lighthouse
Lakes Trails:
Description: This is
the premier kayaking destination of the Texas Gulf Coast.
Coastal Bend Kayak offers a truly one-of-a-kind adventure for
paddlers of all skill levels. It is a wonderful opportunity to
enjoy all the spectacular natural wonders that this area of the
Coastal Bend has to offer. The Texas Parks and Wildlife
department has developed and maintains the trails in an area
called
North
Harbor Island, just west of Port Aransas. The Lighthouse Lakes
Paddling Trail is actually a series of four loops ranging in
length from 1.25 miles to 6.8 miles. The trails meander through an
extensive black mangrove estuary, into sloughs and back lakes near
the historic 1857 Lydia Ann Lighthouse on North Harbor Island.
Paddlers can paddle through mangroves and seagrass flats that
provide outstanding bird watching and fishing.

Eco/Nature
Tour:
Description: Marine life and nature's bounty combine to make
this our most popular trip! A quiet and peaceful paddle awaits
those adventurists who are looking to become one with nature in a
kayak. Birds and marine life are abundant, but you'll also
see deer, turtles, alligators, raccoons, foxes and
armadillos from time to time. Butterflies, hummingbirds (when in
season) and a wide variety of flowering and colorful
vegetation are there for the viewing and exploration. There
will be stops along the way to small, uninhabited islands to comb
the perfect beaches for souvenir seashells or driftwood.
Enjoy history and play with the idea of finding a hidden treasure?
Let us fill-you-in on the
historical facts and locations where LaSalle buried his ship's
treasure or where the first native Indians once lived and thrived
- the Aransazu tribe. Peace, quiet and reflection is the goal of
this journey. There are not any noisy motor boats where you'll be
going!
